I love these glimpses into your life. It feels like you've welcomed me into your home, given me a lovely mug of coffee, and are sharing a sweet update into your days. It's comforting, like the hug of a dear friend, and inspiring, and reminds me of the beauty and graciousness of community. <3
This reminded me of dropping my own kids off at college nearly 4 hours away (longer if the winter was rough and made for sketchy roads). My daughter was in the marching band, so she had to be there 2 weeks early - and less than a week after having her wisdom teeth out. Her birthday happened in that window of time, so I ordered a cake just for her from the cafeteria to help with being away from home. We learned a lot about ourselves in that first year she was gone. I just realized that was 15 years ago already - where did the time go?
1. She was independent and could do hard things. She still needed her mom and I was only a phone call away, but I had done my best to prepare her for life, and she embraced it. 2. I learned to let her go and be her own advocate, to make her own mistakes, and to find out who she wanted to be in the world. So many of today's kids still have their parents up in their business as they learn to fly that they never really learn the lessons of life -accountability to self and others, responsibilities matter, your word means something, and to own your own BS and have some humility.
Thank you for sharing 🩵
Always!
Love them! Thanks for letting us into your world!
Thanks for joining me, for never leaving even when we're offline :)
I do still like these! Please keep sharing.
Always!

You are so welcome into this home, in any way shape or form. :)
I love being part of your adventures every month!
You're with me on them all!
Love - love - love the “Happiness is right in front of you” photo with both of you reflecting in the background… or is that in front of us?
THat was my favorite too!

Oh my goodness, that had to have been so intense. And 15 years gone, my goodness. That is both a relief, and a terrifying truth. Time.
Also, what would you say is the number one or number one and two things you learned in that year with her away?

These are so fantastic. What amazing lessons. I think we need to work harder to get her to that point before Addie goes, too.
Your photographs are amazing. Such a delight!
Ahh just fun little glimpses! Thank you!
Love these so so much
I am so so glad. Truly.
