Christopher Columbus was a douche, I’m just gonna say it. A lot of people hear this, especially a day after this bizarre country continued to celebrate “Columbus Day” and think to themselves: “Was he really that bad?” No folks. He was worse. First of all, the dipshit never even made it to mainland North America, he landed in what is now the Bahamas, and Haiti/Dominican Republic, and once there, committed absolute genocide, stole human beings and returned them to Europe as slaves, and did all of this to a peaceful Indigenous people who didn’t even own or understand weapons. Pardon my French, but fuck that guy.

Anyway, I don’t believe in Columbus day, and so we’re going to instead honor and celebrate what yesterday TRULY was: Indigenous People’s Day. Only 11 states currently designate the second Monday of October as this, and that’s a damn shame and honestly just says so much about this country that we still have a national holiday from some dipshit that never even made it here, and thank goodness he didn’t because had he, the poor Indigenous people already living here would have been robbed of even more time and more land earlier than they already did.
