Got my pre-order done through my local book store this week!!
"The dark side of some quiet road inside" seems to me to be akin to an echo of something I've written of many times as well; that moment when the universe takes residence inside my ribcage, an expansive ache, like a lonely prairie road at midnight.
I have half written poems and beautiful lines scrawled on post-its in my notebooks, on my clipboard (affectionately dubbed "nicole's brain"), in my notes app. And I am forever grateful for my community (this community) that helps me maintain my self-identification as writer despite these scraps... or in some cases because of them.
You are so amazing for your support. Seriously, I know I say it again and again and again, but I just cannot believe how kind and generous you all are.
As for your half-written poems, I imagine I'd love them ALL. I love the Never Was, mine, yours, everyones.
I am... going to put something out in the universe that I've been thinking for a while, but that I know will potentially resonate for you, here, be supported by this community
As my school winds down, (one class left) and with my teaching completed(music to parents and toddlers, I miss it already but it was time) -- I am considering beginning to share; writing outside of the safe margins of this community, outside of the latticework framing you have provided.
Music, poetry prose... any of it and all of it, perhaps.
it is a half-formed thought now, but perhaps a practice I will embrace, if I only get the courage to face myself.
I was just mentioning, in a conversation with my visiting son, that created art (unlike many other things) never stops sharing energy. And you, my friend, may consider yourself the “energizer bunny” of written artists. Another reason why art is important to us all. Think of how much we are energized each day by the many forms of art available. It is amazing how that one thought can empower us. I may not know where all energy goes, but at least I know from when it can come.

I encourage you sharing EVERYTHING. You are such a talent, your words need to find all of us who need to find Them.
