I loathe being the first person to write here. I am no writer like many in here! But, you seem to humor me, so let’s go with that!!

This could be LOOONG. And I am so damn happy that I can say that. In writing now, i must include a little bit. Cait (daughter) and I “split” on 10/31/2023. I did ANYTHING to learn how to learn where my changes were needed and then to make said changes.

Now-a few of my own my own ripped out intros…and certainly new ones. (Even the “ripped out ones” are now twisted to include the lesson and “new” intros)

-You do not owe anyone an explanation about how your life is, how it is affecting you and most certainly the best way you have found to help with said things. Saying a simple no without making any explanations is all you owe anyone.

-No matter how many times you have heard this in your life, I promise it has not been enough times: You can never take back the words once they are said. (or written if you must text them.)

-Happiness is not a destination. It IS the journey.

-Nobody should be allowed to rent enough room in your head to make you doubt yourself or make you feel crappy. Rid yourself of unnecessary negative people and THOUGHTS.

I’m looking at those four only. Those are definitely not things I needed to unlearn. Those were all things that I did learn. Stemming from the things I needed lol

I don’t think I have ever written this much, so thanks if you’re still reading, because this is the best part-all of the work that I have done? All the therapy, the tears, the acceptance….my daughter has finally returned. Over a month now. It is amazing to hear validation from her without looking for it on the changes she notices I have made in simple communication.

I also want to thank each one of you. You have listened to me mourn my daughter.. I hope you help me celebrate her return!

TKG-A special thank you-you have no idea how much you have helped. Thru your emails to us all, your personalized poems (2 and counting), and even the odd time that I actually emailed you personally. You always made me feel welcome and loved.

And yes. I love the new look and I love the unicorn. VERY you!! And that is a great compliment.. thank you for your help♥️ Always.

So grateful to be part of this community

SO beyond grateful that you are here, that you're part of this weird and wild place. Truly. Thank you for this response, I cannot tell you how much it means that you take the time, and that you pour so much truth and honesty. These are beautiful, and so true. The happiness one is something I try so hard to impart to everyone I care for. I am so happy to hear of your daughter's return, truly, I am so happy that the path you've fought for is unfurling in front of you. You're always welcome, always loved, I hope you know that.

I would kill to come to a retreat hosted by you two... Even better if ty could come, too... But we just are not in a chapter of our lives where we have that kind of money to spend on a trip right now. (Especially since the Canadian dollar is so weak right now -- $4000 USD is $5550 CAD x.x ) But I hope, for many reasons, that they're a rip-roaring success so that you're still hosting them by the time we could attend one!!

Totally understand the poor money exchange crap going on right now. Trump has totally boned the relationship between our countries and it's causing all sorts of havoc. We really wrestled about pricing, and trying to thread the needle between how much it will take for us to do this, how much of us we'll pour into not only the retreat, but all the months of planning before and months of time After, and this is about where things landed. Hope one day you can join!

Just to be clear, it's not because I think you are charging too much!! You guys never charge too much; often, you don't charge enough. I believe in you two and the value you'd bring! :D

You're so sweet. I STRUGGLE to ever charge what I should. This place included.

Also... Maybe one day you can do a retreat here because I can think of a handful of really special, breathtaking, calm, inspiring places in the foothills and the Rockies here, too! ^_^

I agree with what Sarah was saying. I'm currently exploring new things in my life, some of which are outside of the norm. I'm having new dreams and ideas and wanting things I've never wanted before. Over the next year of my life, I think I'm going to be "ripping out the introduction" of my life story and doing some wild new things. Dead Poets Society is such an excellent reminder of how to live with that essence and that energy.

Another thing I need to rip out is my need for permission or validation to do the things I really want to do. I want to be unapologetic and get rid of the anxiety I have of what other people will think of me.

NEVER SEEK PERMISSION (I mean consent, yes, you know what I mean haha) just do, and do with good intentions! :)

Mostly I wanna travel without asking permission! 😂

What a terrifying concept for me. What do I need to rip out? Part of me fears that if I rip out the parts that need revision that there might not be anything left of me to rebuild. As a giver, and as a human that is in partial, a museum of all the people and things I have loved over my lifetime. I AM SARAH in this capacity with the oxygen. I am absolutely incapable of putting myself before those that I hold closest to me. I do not have the capacity. My fabric tells me that being imursed or consumed in/by love in all my relationships in life makes more sense than casual or surface level. Maybe I need to rip out the intrusive nature of myself. Lol.

Also, the hand fasting.…. That's everything. 🖤

Oooh, rip out the intrusive nature of myself is so wonderfully put! Wow. ANd yes, to hand fasting!
