Perhaps I should offer the same apology but honestly, he gave out, gave up first. I know that apology, even acknowledgement, is never coming. Sadly, while we still live together, it means moving life along without him with new experiences, activities and friends. Our children applaud me for this; I always invite him. His extreme political beliefs, very pro- Trump, (sorry to express political bias here), strange for a Canadian, leave him feeling isolated and he embraces a hermit-like existence even with family and neighbours. My latest tattoo is the Finnish word, Sisu, which means possessing inner strength when you have reached your limits.
This is my greatest and on-going angst in my life. I refuse to give up on him; he is a good man. But fuck, I’d like that apology.
