I don't do horror normally, but I love all of those Mike Flannigan films on Netflix. They are all great. If you haven't seen his newest movie, The Life of Chuck, you should definitely watch it!
This is a beautiful poem but I have to tell you something. It's also a magical poem. I watched Midnight Mass when it came out and was so deeply disappointed in one big (in my opinion) plot hole, that I allowed it to ruin the entire series for me. (And I loved the first two series.) But your poem that was inspired in part by this series, makes me see the whole the whole thing in a new light. It makes me see the beauty of what Flanagan was trying to convey, that I could not see until now. I can put aside what I think were flaws and appreciate, actually cherish, that scene you are referring to. It really was more breathtaking than I gave it credit for. This is the magic of your poem. Thank you for helping me see the light, to see past my own failings and allow the work of another to bring me joy. As your work always brings me joy. Thank you, sir. ♥
THIS is a compliment! Holy smokes, thank you. ANything that challenges us to see things in new light is worthy of something, and this makes me feel worthy haha. Thank you!
Forever thankful every time you write and share something that makes me feel less alone. Less like a freak. I haven't seen this at all but still relate. How beautiful it is to love someone if even for only one night.
Beautiful, just beautiful! I am slowly savouring each page of "The Never Was" and these insights from you make each poem really come alive. Thank-you Tyler!!
From within
It is there
Never gone
Always there
That which we seek
Was always there
So close
And yet not found
If only we are open
While waiting for a knock
Little do we know
We need not look so far
It always was within
No need for shade or shine
But from within
Others help us find it
When we see it in their eyes
That is just a reflection
Of what we have inside
They are only a reminder
Of what we mask or hide
Unless we set it free
Set it free indeed. What a beautiful piece.
I loved this poem in your book!

Ahh I am so glad! We've still not yet seen Life of Chuck but we cannot wait to!

If you're a freak, I'm a freak, and holy shit what a good thing that is to be. Forever freaks, no other way forward. :)
