The timing of today’s brand new Typewriter Series poem quite literally couldn’t be better. Sarah and I spent the last two days in the Montana State Capitol building, working with the ACLU to oppose, and photograph our opposition, a variety of horrific bills trying to sneak their way through the legislative session.

Hearing some of the hateful anti-trans, anti-drag, anti-LGBTQ bills that are being introduced into this session was nauseating, and really stoked my fire of resistance, as well as reminded me once again the importance of advocacy.

Pro Tip: When people bring hateful bills and you protest them, sit RIGHT behind them in a rainbow flannel and roll your eyes when they say stupid and hateful things.

Today’s poem, which I’ll break down below, feels entirely appropriate for those brave beauties that got up and testified against the bills. If you want the full breakdown and behind the scenes info, please, click the button below. I’ve seen a pretty large uptick in lost paid subscribers over the last month, and it makes it hard to keep this place running. If you’re able, I’d love to have you.
