How the hell is it almost March? Better, more pressing question is, how the hell is it still -26 here when it’s almost March? Good questions both, neither of them do I have answers for. Instead, I have links. Sweet hot ones.

Pssst…if you want a Rad way to say “Hey Tyler, Thanks for this rad place, I love you 30,000, there’s a way. Hop on board the exclusive community train! You get extra newsletters each week (with fun writing prompts and discussion threads), LIVE VIRTUAL HANGOUTS EACH MONTH!, and direct access to me and to the most amazing community of fellow Light Chasers in the comments:

Here’s the scoop, kids:

  1. 8 Techniques To Gauge Character - Being able to ‘read’ a person is an invaluable skill sometimes, and being able to read not the behavior, but the content of a character, even more so. I found myself agreeing with many of these 8 techniques to tell what a person might actually be made of. My advice too, trust your gut. It knows.

  2. Make Friends With Your Beautiful Monsters - No one wants to be angry, envious, or afraid. No one. We all are though, and often. These are some of the monsters within us, and this fantastic Buddhist article is about not fighting them and pushing them away until they come back again, but making friends with them instead. Magic happens when you do this. If you only read one article today, maybe make it this one.

  3. An Ode To Swearing - I wrote an entire Signal Fire about this a bit back, the origin of swear words, the reason I love them, the power we give them. This is an ode to them, and how a well-timed and well-turned curse word can remind you just how powerful language is. Fuckin’ Rad.

  4. The 90s Were The Best Time To Be Alive - Ok I lied, if you only read ONE article the week, make it this one. This is stunning, staggering, nostalgic, real, and haunting in the best ways. This one made me absolutely hurt. Please read this one.

  5. 11-Year-Old Millionaire Painter - Yep, this kid just made $1.3 million selling paintings. Yep, that’s wild. A bit of Picasso, a bit of Basquiat, a bit of skateboard deck, and you’ve got this kids art. What a thing.

  6. “If You Love Me You Will Lie” by Out Lines - I just love when you can hear an accent in someone’s singing. That’s all. Weird little song.

  7. Typewriter Series Silliness - Yep. More. Click this one, it’ll take you to the others. Yikes.

"Better, more pressing question is, how the hell is it still -26 here when it’s almost March?"

It was 40-something with a low of 25 on Saturday, 79 here yesterday, and it may snow tomorrow.

Hell yes to the 90's article!!!! UGH. I know I was only a very young child in the 90s, but damn the 90s are just so magical and nostalgic now. This article is spot on man. Thank you for this dose of magic.
