Folks, big fun news today for this Friday Matchbook extravaganza! The new book is HERE! Boxes arrived yesterday morning and I opened them, admittedly nervously after the debacle that happened with first printing of my last book, Illumination.
Nerves proved completely unnecessary, and entirely unfounded, as they look immaculate. The colors, the shadows, the light in my photographs are exactly as I took them, the poems are high resolution scans of the precise found paper that all the originals live on. The book flows so well, it feels so weighty and real in your hands, and the cover, that my best friend in the world who celebrates his birthday TODAY—HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND I LOVE YOU!—
and I designed together has that fun soft touch feel, and it just looks stunning.
I cannot wait for you to get your hands on this book, my friends. It’s the biggest, truest, most pure expression of me. Of what it is to be inside my strange Autistic brain, to see how I see, to feel how I feel, to try to make sense of the bizarrity that has always been my version of “normal.”
