Read about “kinhin” this afternoon and attempted to practice this evening on my walk…
Not so easy on a city block…
However the bird cries, children playing basketball, the weed whacker timing a yard, the dove on the stop light, The out of place lava rock near the train track… slow deliberate steps… got me there… senses engaged and aware
Definitely an art piece! I so enjoyed listening to this, and am now noticing the sounds of this Sunday evening - the wind whispering through my favorite tree, my dog snoring beside me, my own breath. Thank you :)
Oh I am so glad Rachel. It felt different writing it, reading it, and I hoped that translated! The addition of your own breath is so beautiful, and so bizarrely intimate. I love that addition.
Yes!! Definitely one of my favorites so far. I will add in the frogs—the many tree frogs and wood frogs singing in harmony from the woods behind my house tonight (& most every night)! You’ve inspired me to start a “15 minute Summer Symphony Appreciation” practice each night. Tonight through the end of July. At least. 😉❤️ Thank you.
“Susurrus” - added to my dictionary
Love that word…Love that imagery
Gonna work that into a sentence today
Mission accomplished
and with astounding results ✨

The susurrus of night beckons me to sleep…
Just a few more pages to read first…

YES! We never hear frogs here and I wish so much we did. I love that sound.
'Before Barbed Wire" ... like a hymn. Played for the greatest cathedral there ever has been, mother nature. I mean, just look up at the clouds ...
Fireflies blink in time with the crickets. The symphony's light show.
Gayle this is so lovely. Oof.
