As mornings get darker and darker, and we’re closer than ever to the shortest day of the year, we need the things that warm us more than ever. I’m not speaking of warmth in its literal sense, as many of you reading this are undoubtedly in warm climates, bare skin peeking out from shirtsleeves or dresses, shorts or bathing suits. I am speaking of how desperately we, as members of this human race, need the things that soothe us, and we need to admit to ourselves what they are, and more than that,
The white mug in your picture was available in your shop a few years ago, but unfortunately I missed out. My daughter has told me a few times she would love to have one if they are ever available again. Any chance these might make a comeback?
I'm with Sarah! My one cup of morning coffee is my only vice and it's a daily ritual that I drink while the sun comes up, as I write out my daily gratitude list. That first sip is absolute heaven!
I'm also all about the hot mug of coffee. But I've been upping my self care game... because life is challenging. I also find comfort in scented hand lotions and fresh lemon in ice cold water, lavender scented candles, and giving myself permission to sit under a warm blanket in my favorite sweatshirt and fuzzy socks with a good book. I'm convinced that while my family needs time with me, I DESERVE time with myself, too. And honestly, the reset is good for my mental health and helps me be a better person the rest of the time....so a little gift of time and comfort to myself ripples out to the rest of them.
My first walk with my dog at 4:30 or 5 am is my time to bring the heat out and in. We walk in the peace and quiet of the pre born dawn, the stars are bright and all I hear is his breathing, we walk in tandem, my day starts. I realized in August when my daughter came home from college that I'd gone since March without a hug or human physical contact! So hugs and dog loves are my way to blow the heat out into the cold.....

That comment about Your wife made me chuckle! For me it’s the lemon tea I have in the morning. Time to just take it all in for a few moments...
I one hundred percent agree with your wife. I look forward to my morning coffee at night because it's the one constant thing I can count on right now.
Coffee completes me too!!
