Another month, another opportunity to show you life from the point of view of my little lens. The light we chased, the roads we drove, the love we shared and tried our damndest to spread.
A huge thank you to the paid subscribers (life has been tough in this world lately, so I really hope you all know how much I appreciate you) for generously helping make this Matchbook post free for everyone. If you wanna help pay this forward, just click the link below.

More walks, more (*gasp*NO WAY*gasp*) track meets, and we celebrated Sarah’s Mom’s birthday. I also had to fix shit on the roof, Sarah looked glam as F in her overalls which is a feat I just don’t quite understand but never fail to feel appreciative of, and we caught some amazing light—both golden hour and sunsetty. Also, we’re surrounded by wildlife where we live, and these deer are a daily boost when they visit.

The weather in Montana is fickle, going from boiling hot to freezing cold then back again. This kicks off massive headaches for me due to barometer changes (if anyone has any tips on how to beat this, I am ALL ears), but it also makes things interesting. We traveled to Butte for yet another track meet, this time Divisionals, and Henry had to grind down his spikes to meet the regulations I guess? Stuff got wild and Sarah got emotional as Henry then had his official signing with the University of Montana to continue his running career. Dude will be an official college athlete, in both cross country and track, which is just rad. Also rainbows that stream in, because rainbows.

Balsam flowers exploded from all the rain, and then we drove with my folks up to Kalispell, MT for the final track meet of Henry’s high school, the STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. He did amazing, got all-state 3 times which is insane. We caught some amazing fog, amazing light, and amazing things in various states of decay. Something about that basketball hoop photo feels like a book cover, and
even mocked one up. Looked rad, as per usual.

The Kalispell trip was fun, sharing that with my folks, Sarah bought a beautiful dress to wear to graduation (whilst crying about that), and we got to go to a fun farmer’s market. I was also reminded by a yellow wall that IT’S GOING TO BE OKAY, which is nice to hear and also maybe a bit optimistic given current circumstances haha. Final school activities for both Henry and Addie leading up to school ending for the year, and it’s just wild that in a few months, Henry will be in college, Addie will be a senior, and then Sarah and I are only 1 year away from an empty nest. Being a step-dad is wild, and it’s been quite the ride, but man do I feel lucky.
One last stunner of a sunset and a little cheeky visit from our deer ended a great month.
Let me know if ya’ll still like these Fuji roundups. I know it’s probably weird looking at random photos from a random person living in a random state you probably haven’t ever even visited, but I love little connections like that, so maybe you do too?
I love you all, and I’ll see you next week. Be good, yeah?
I absolutely love looking at your random photos
Your random photos are a little monthly art exhibition on my phone. Please keep sharing as long as it brings you joy!
