One of the challenges of writing poetry for other people, for these custom poems that have served as a lifeline through this pandemic, is picking and choosing the details that will make their way into the poetry.
When you’re trying to put all these pieces together for custom poems, is your process the same as your usual typewriter series? By that, I mean once you’ve let the ideas marinade in your head for a while do you sit down and write in stream of thought? Or for these do you take an approach that involves editing?

Honestly, same. It all pours out at once, and I don’t edit. I trust my silly brain to remember the details, and put them in place. :)
